Jarx, Aurra, and Kara went through a door and let it shut behind them. THe room was not lit, they stood in complete darkness as they heard some of the beasts rush past. Jarx let out a sigh of relief when he felt that they were gone.
He backed up against the wall, and must have touch something because the lights all came on. Aurra let out a whistle as they all were staring at a bunch of data screens.
There were six rows of them, with a walking space seperating the rows, so there were three on one side, and three on another. There was a seat behind every data screen, and from the dust particles in the air, this room had been disturbed recently. But Jarx guessed that before the sith arrived, no one had been in this particular room for hundreds of years at least, which was next to impossible in his mind.
Kara went next to one of the data screens. He only knew that it was a data screen just because of the way it was situated, but it looked much different then from the data screens he had seen on any of the core worlds. A much older version to be sure. Jarx walked up next to Kara and they both peered at the screen. It was blank of course, since the machine wasn't even on. But that change as soon as Aurra shouted, "I got it."
Jarx and Kara both looked at her, "Be quite, if those things hear us they will find a way in here." Jarx whispered.
Jarx looked back at the screen and started looking at the text. THe format of the files were way different then he ever saw before, but he still understood what they said. It was all in basic.
---------------------------
Fidella took several steps towards one of the bacta like tubes, "Yes, the sith left these things here to kill anyone who came poking around, but I am not sure that they made these things..."
Brendak spoke, "Are you saying these things were not man-made?"
Fidella shook his head, "I am not sure of that. But I don't think the sith could have made something like this in this short of time....."

Aurra looked back toward Kara and Jarx before asking, "What do you guys make of this?".

Jarx clicked on one of the files. He didn't see a data so he just started reading, so did Kara and Aurra.
DATAFILE: 222-660-4020 Personal Journal file of Jason Kade
I was recruited nearly five years ago and brought to this facility here at the depths of Coruscant. The man who recruited me works here too. I have never left this building in these five years, but soon, very soon, we will be done.
All of us here have a different part of the project to work on. We were told that we could not put anything of which we worked on in our journal entries, so I cannot say what I am doing or what my part is. All I can say is that I had a huge part and I am proud of my work.
Only a couple of us have ever saw him. At least we assume it is a him. For all we know he is a she. Some of us guess that he(or she) is human from the way the people who have seen him describe him. But that could also not be true.
In truth, our employer is a mystery. Before I was recruited I was told nothing except of the benefits and of some of the stuff I would be working on. I was also told of the restrictions and I realized why they picked a man who was not married and who had no family to speak of whatsoever. And I came to realize that most of the men and women down here were the same way. Only some were aloud to go out and about and only because they had certain clearences or special missions. And most of them said they felt like they were being followed.
Other workers do have family, but they are down here with them. After this project, we were told we are being moved to a whole different planet. Which we were warned about in the contract that we signed.
Some have muttered that this is a prision, I say they knew what they were getting into. Our employer made sure his recruiters told us what would happen. I guess some thought it was a joke.
For me, I am glad to get out of this pit called Coruscant. Even while I lived in the city, it was just a stinking gangster pit, filled with crime, drugs, and corrupt politicians who did really nothing for the people, and with jedi.
WHile I don't care about the jedi, from what I have gathered in my stay here, our employer doesn't seem to like them much, and there are rumors that what we are doing, creating, building, is a means to bring down the jedi. That sounded like a bunch of hog wash to me, but what if it was true. Maybe our employer is a weapons dealer, or maybe he has some vendette against the jedi. Or he might even be a sith.
With that last notion I disagree. He has treated all of us like human beings, unlike what I heard the sith do.
Jarx stopped reading and looked to the left of the string. There was a picture of a middle-aged man in a white uniform of some kind. The man looked healthy and strong, and had a full head of brown hair. He heard Kara mutter, "And this is connected with the project on Taris? How?"
Jarx shook his head, "I don't know. But the more and more I read about this, 'employer', the more and more I think he has something against the jedi."

As Aurra read through the journal passage, she began to wonder what she had gotten herself into. Aurra frowned slightly, "Hmmm . . . so many secrets around here. So far all we know is that there is an 'employer' who could be a sith, somehow this could be connected with the other project on Taris, and apparently the project was moved to a different planet. We need to find out what the project is and where it has been moved."

(Ah! Sorry I haven't been on in so long, everybody! I hope you're all enjoying your summers so far! By the way, Brendak hasn't wrote because her computer isn't working. . . So she'll try her best to write soon!)
Shaa followed Ketreelawa down the right path, deactivating her glowing lightsaber. Star's end! What were those things?! They were practically impossible to kill!! Slowly walking through the corridor, she listened to the hollow shrieks that bounced along the walls of the tunnel. Though Shaa had been through almost everything in her life, nothing had prepared her for this. This mission was turning out to be far more difficult then she had anticipated. Or hoped.

Jarx shook his head, "I don't know, but whatever they were working on, it was big-" a growl interrupted him and all of them looked up to see the red beast with several of its silver counterparts.
Jarx slowly reached for his gun, Kara did the same for her lightsaber. Jarx thought hurriedly to himself, How did they sneak up us like that? THey didn't even come from behind, they are in front of us! But how? THe doors are all closed... He looked up an had his answer. They were using secret passageways in the cieling.
------------------------------------------
Fidella looked through the bacta tanks till his eyes fell upon one beast that looked similar to the beast that seamed to be the pack leader. A data screen was in front of the bacta tank that Fidella took the liberty of reading. Sarahi and Brendak made sure they were reading too.
Datafile 55003493-3349292-6849
Project: PACK STATUS: COMPLETE
We have done it. We have created a weapon that the jedi will even fear dispite their jedi code. Our creations are resistent to lightsaber attacks. And the leader of that pack, his hide is impenitrable to all energy based attacks. They can think, they can communicate, and we even have the understanding that they may be able to communicate to other sentiant beings.
Fidella stopped. What was this thing exactly saying? That they made these things? To kill the jedi?

"If the leaders can't be killed by energy based attacks..." Sarahi was thinking out loud, "then that means that only a few weapons can take them out." She frowned and rubbed the side of her mask. A troubled frown helped outline the picture of deep concern on Sarahi's face. "What about the Force? Are these things resistant to it? I doubt we will find a file on any major flaws these creatures may have, but..." A small smile appeared on Sarahi's face.

Fidella looked at Sarahi, "By few weapons, that means primitive weapons." He paused for a moment to think, "I agree that reading more may actually reveal a weakness, maybe."
AS I have said before, the creatures seem to be able to communicate on another scale of communication. Perhaps even telepathically. But we usually hear them grunt to one another as their form of communication, but if they can speak without saying a word, they would be able to take out any elite team of jedi just based off of team work.
These creatures are the pinnacle of DNA merging technology. Our employer employed us for a certain reason for a certain product, and I say we gave it to him. Our creatures are fast, strong, work together, and can think.
The tests could also speak for their selves. We unleashed a single pack of these things on a group of jedi on some back water planet. The jedi fought well, but were defeated in a single hour. Their lightsabers seem to be able to kill some of our beasts, but the leaders of the pack can withstand them.
Once the jedi realized that lightsabers would not work totally they went about using the force. But as they do not use the force as a weapon, except throwing around, it had little effect.
Now, the sith stood a little while longer. But it also might be because of their use of the force, and their means of...tactics. They killed one of their own to lure the beasts into a trap with a blood trail. THey managed to kill several of the pack. And the force lightning and choke powers killed several of the beasts also.
I laugh though, because in both tests, one sith and one jedi tried to control a beast. This is were our thinking came in handy. The beast has a mind that can block jedi or sith from entering their minds. But apparently, it did something else, because both the jedi and the sith went nuts and started acting like a wild animal and was cleanly killed by another beast. Apparently, the beasts know how to enter the mind of a jedi or sith when the jedi or sith is trying to enter their's.
The sith also used ballistic weapons which they were lucky enough to acquire from nearby Trandoshans who were unlucky enough to fall in their path. THey worked much better then their blasters and lightsabers. But in a matter of three hours, the sith were also destroyed.
Fidella smashed his fist against a wall, "A whole group of jedi slaughtered!"

"If they think that a jedi won't fight with the Force, they've got another thing coming." Sarahi said quietly. "We'll see how powerful their creations are when they are crushed from the inside." She stared at her hand and touched her mask. "The jedi that died...they will have their justice if I have anything to say about it."
Sarahi stopped talking for a moment and blinked. "I have an odd feeling...I think we are being watched."

Lisa smiled, feeling the attitude of her companions lighten. Perhaps things wouldn't be so bad after all.. but she knew getting into that kind of thinking would get them into trouble. The under-streets of Coruscant were no 'walk in a park'.
Jenina stared. "Killed? All of them?" She pondered this. Was that why the Masters in the Temple were so few?

Fidella answered Jenina's question, "Just that one small group which from what I read hear made ten, all of them either masters or knights..." He looked up when Sarahi said what she said, "I feel it too....it is feint but still there...." They heard a growl and all of them turned around but saw nothing. They all slowly went through another door and found themselves inside a gigantic room that held hundreds of the bacta tanks. Alot of them were empty but still filled with a clear liquid. Some were covered by a blast shield with a red light indicating it was locked, and some held some of the beasts. Fidella and the jedi moved quickly now, deeper into the facility. They were near the center of the room when Brendak ignited his lightsaber, "I saw something moving in the shadows." The huge room was dimly lit. It looked how you would picture a warehouse, with hanging lights that only lit small parts of the floor. Not enough to see every inch of the place. Fidella ignited his lightsaber as did Sarahi, "I don't like this, not one bit." Jenina was standing in front of one of the bacta tanks which held a red beast. The thing was still, eyes closed. Jenina seemed so transfixed by the beast, she didn't notice one of the bacta tanks, covered by a blast shields, turned from red to green and it slowly went upwards into the ceiling. All she heard was a low growl and then felt one of the silver beasts slam her into the glass. (She is alive of course, but I thought I should do something. Hope you didn't mind Jenina. ) -------------- Jarx fired several times at the red beast only to see the laser bolts absorbed by the beast's skin. It growled, taunting him, baiting him. Two of the other beasts launched them selves at the three. Aurra fired off several blasts at the silver beasts, managing to kill one out of several. Jarx saw Kara slicing several of them open with her light saber. He was surprised to say the least, as he saw that the other jedi's light sabers did not do as well before. Then he saw the red beast on her. Unlucky enough for her, her lightsaber's energy seemed to be absorbed into the thing's skin. It knocked the blade away from her and was ontop of her. He saw it bend over her and stretch out its tounge like a animal tasting it's meal. It never got the chance. Kara threw her hands toward it and the beast howled in pain She got up slowly while holding the thing in place. Her right hand was right below her left, and she made a motion like you would do if you were holding a jaw open. Which is in fact what she was doing. She then brought her right hand down and threw her left hand up and Jarx watched as the beast's bottom half of it's face and the upper half go in opposite directions in a horrific crack. Jarx didn't have time to marvel as one of the beasts jumped him from behind. It was another red one. Jarx was flung five feet before landing on the ground. He rolled so he was on his feet again. The beast charged and Jarx didn't even have time to think as he shoved his hand down the beast's throat. The think was crying in pain and anger and clamping its mouth on Jarx's arm again and again. Jarx heard the warnings that his suit was giving him about armor integrity, but eventually the beast choked to death

Jenina felt the glass break beneath her, slicing into her. Gasping in shock and pain, she tried to focus. She couldn't move. Panic filled her. Think! You're a Jedi! Not a little girl! The blood...there was so much of it...
Lisa whirled. "What?! What's going on?!"

Sarahi had rarely ever been caught off guard, but this was one of those rare moments she was. Upon hearing the shattering of glass, Sarahi's protective instincts kicked into gear. Without a second thought she rushed forward and slammed into the beast knocking it away from Jenina.
"I've killed a sith using just the Force!" Sarahi shielded her metal fist with the Force and slammed it into the beast's side as hard as she could. It was a fatal blow, as her hand penetrated through the tough skin and into its insides. A burst of black fluid rushed out of the large hole. Sarahi backed away and threw her hood over her face. "You, and your creators I will handle no differently."
~~~
Cla'Tal froze in place. "Something's not right..." He looked over at Ketreelawa. "I feel it too, we should go help." He spun on his heel and turned around, drawing his lightsaber in the process.
~~~
Sarahi examined her fist tainted with the black blood of the beast. She highly doubted her attack was too brutal to be considered sith like, but the other may think differently. It wasn't the Dark Force that made her do things that differed from the jedi, it was in her blood...
---
"The blood of a Mandalorian flows within your veins Sarahi." Her father leaned back in his chair and stared into the open space. "You have your mother's protective instincts, and her warrior blood."
"I don't understand..." Sarahi cocked her head ever so slightly.
"It means that you will face more emotionally than any other jedi." Quaji closed his eyes and sighed. "The peace that the jedi tried to instill within you will ever conflict with the war in your blood."
"Can I fight it?" Sarahi sat up.
"You cannot change what blood runs through your veins." Her father replied.
"What do I do? The Mandalorians are strong and wise, but...." Sarahi looked down.
"Never use your strength it to the point of the Dark Force, but if you are ever out of the use of a lightsaber, remember that a well placed punch shielded with the Force can do as much damage as a lightsaber can." Quaji let out another sigh. "I remember the Mandalorian war very well. They were hard to beat, and brutal. Sometimes brutality can help win a fight...I should know..."
"You mean, use the strength within myself to win a fight against an impossible enemy?" Sarahi thought for a moment. "I could use it as aggression, but not to the point of brutality..."
---
Sarahi shook hear head slightly to rid herself of the flashback. Soon she found herself offering a hand to Jenina. "Are you okay?"

Ketreelawa followed Cla'Tal, glad to have a master jedi with her. She reached over her shoulder and unsheathed her Ryyk blade, which she preferred using over her lightsaber.
