(inspired by summer)
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away...
Several jedi have decided to take a ten day leave all at once and travel across the galaxy with friends as well. Little does anyone know, that trouble is brewing, and it will be a summer vacation that no one, will forget.
(come on! have your characters pack for vacation! hurry, the ship won't wait forever)
````````````````
Sarahi sighed and threw her small bag over her shoulder. it was about time the council granted her leave, she just hoped that her vacation wouldn't be ruined by a sith or any other person for that matter.
There was a knock at her door. "Knock, knock." Cla'Tal forced open the door with the Force.
"What do you want?" Sarahi frowned.
"I want to know if you're ready for your leave." he grinned. "I know I am."
"Wait, you're coming?" Sarahi dropped her bag.
"Wouldn't be a vacation without me." Cla'Tal nodded and then strolled away.
Sarahi sat down on her bed and shook her head thinking that she would rather take the sith on a vacation than Cla'Tal. "Please...don't let him be the cause of my death." She sighed. "I'm still too young to die."
(Thanks Sarahi, for letting me be human for a little while. *laughing out loud*)
“Master, you seem more than a little cheery. May I inquire as to why this might be?” Talla asked as she walked along side her master.
Trent’s usual childish grin widened, “Notice a little more bounce in my step?”
“Yes, actually. Considering that the typical bounce in the step of a normal human being is—“
“Forget it. I’m going on a leave.”
“A leave? Master, did the council actually grant you a leave? If this is an attempt at a joke, you have failed once again.” Talla said without so much as smiling.
Trent stopped and turned to face his padawan, “You seem surprised they would grant me a leave.”
Talla shrugged, “I figured since you broke practically every law of the jedi there is, they would not be pleased with you.”
Trent tousled Talla’s hair and laughed, “You’re right. I’m not sure what’s going through the council’s heads.”
Talla, having no reaction to Trent messing up her hair, started to walk again towards her master’s quarters, “Master, what shall I do while you are on leave?”
“Gosh, I know what I would do.” Trent replied walking into his quarters.
Talla’s head cocked to the side, “What, master?”
“Oh man, with no one watching me where would I start! Let’s see, first I would go to Yarnico’s Café and eat as many Belsavian Bowvine Fruit Pies as I possibly could! Then I would—“
Talla scoffed, “Master, you got in enough trouble when you were little and snuck out of the temple at night and ate pie at Yarnico’s.”
Trent slung his bag onto his broad shoulders, “You still remember that story?”
“Yes, master.”
“Oh, well. . .you can do whatever you want. Go. . .someplace and have fun.” Trent smiled.
“Fun?” Talla looked confused.
“Yes, fun. F-U-N. Fun. Do something fun, pleasurable, amusing, entertaining, enjoyable. Fun. Is that word not in your vocabulary?”
Talla blinked, “Jedi are reserved people, fun is…illogical in this instance.”
Trent sighed, “Talla, if you must have some reserved fun.”
“Good idea. I will go and study. Have an enjoyable trip, master.”
“I will, Talla.” Trent said, pulling her into a hug, “And I, unlike some people, will have fun.”
“Goodbye,” Talla said as she watched her master happily wander down to Kendalia’s quarters.
Kendalia sighed and swept a long strand of her curly black hair behind her ear. Placing the last item in the small bag she had prepared, she smiled.
“Kendalia.”
Kendalia spun around, grabbing her lightsaber and igniting it. Trent quickly scrambled to ignite his own lightsaber in time to block hers from slicing through his neck.
“Slow down, Kendalia.” Trent said.
“Oh, it’s you.” Kendalia clicked her lightsaber off and tossed it onto her bed, “You ready?” she asked, grabbing her bag.
“Yep.”
“Excited?”
“Bubbling over with excitement.” Trent grinned, before quickly snatching something off the bed.
“So am I.” Kendalia said, taking one last look at her room before exiting.
“So, do you know where we’re going?” Trent asked as he deactivated his lightsaber and jogged to catch up with her.
“No. I wonder. Maybe we’ll go to Ragoon IV.” Kendalia suggested.
“I hope not, that place is boring.”
Kendalia elbowed Trent, “It’s not boring! It’s quite beautiful.”
“Yeah, but what do you do there? Meditate, sleep, meditate, sleep, ect.”
“Oh, come on.” Kendalia groaned.
“Well, do they have good food there?” Trent asked.
Kendalia stopped and turned to face Trent. A smile threatened to take over her mouth, “Seriously?! Is that always your first thought?”
“No, sometimes it’s third or second or fourth.” Trent replied.
Kendalia laughed, “I fail to see what similarities my mom sees between us.”
“Well, I think I’m funny and you think I’m funny so we’re the same there. And I think I’m awesome and you think I’m awesome so—“
“Yeah, yeah, I get it.”
“I wonder who else is coming on the trip.” Trent thought aloud.
“Yeah, I wonder if we know anyone.” Kendalia added.
“I guess we'll find out.” Trent slapped Kendalia on the back, “This is going to be great. No sith, no padawans. . .pure peace.”
Lisa glanced toward where the ship they were taking was docked. From her seat at the Cantina's bar, she had an excellent view of everyone and everything going and coming. Taking another sip of the non-alcoholic Corellian Ale sitting in front of her, she comtemplated the adventures that awaited for the summer ahead.
Jenina looked up at the sound of Cla'Tal and Sarahi's voices. So Master Cla'Tal and Master Qui are coming. She smiled. This trip was going to be the best. She liked Cla'Tal's humor, and Sarahi was someone for whom she had a deep respect.
"Hey, I think I grab a sip of something," Trent said when he noticed the cantina near the ship.
"Fine, I'll pass." Kendalia said before giving him a sharp look, "Don't eat a ton like that one time."
Trent smiled mischievously then walked into the cantina.
He walked up to the bar, told the bartender to get him a drink, then glanced at the girl beside him. She looked some-what familiar, but he disregarded it. He had met so many people while helping Kendalia search for her padawan that he couldn't remember.
The girl had green eyes and light auburn hair that stopped at her shoulders. Her eyes shadowed something that had happened to her in the past—something that brought her pain.
Trent looked away and took the drink that the bartender handed him. He had a clear view of the ship.
Smiling, Trent lifted the small object he had taken from Kendalia’s bed. He studied it then slipped it away. It wasn’t like she was going to need it, but just in case, he was going to have it.
“It’s vacation,” he told himself softly, “she won’t need it.”
Lisa glanced at the person who came up to the bar beside her. One of her cat ears flicked up and toward his direction before he could stop it. Quickly, she patted it down, and brushed her hair over it. She didn't want to draw too much attention to herself...yet. She flashed a friendly grin at the person beside her. What was his name? Oh, of course. Trent... She had overheard a conversation in which he had used his name.
Trent's eyes darted to the girl next to him when he saw a flicker of movement. If he was right the girl had...feline ears. When the girl grinned, Trent found himself staring at her feline teeth. Slapping himself mentally for staring, he grinned and acknowledged the girl. Lisa... the name passed through his head. Of course! Part of that group Ketreelawa was with! Now it's all coming clear. "Hmm...I seem to remember you from somewhere. Your name wouldn't happen to be Lisa, would it?" he asked.
Lisa grinned again. "That I am. And you must be Trent." She extended a hand. "Good to meet you."
Trent hesitated for a moment and glanced nervously down at his right hand before shaking her hand. He made sure not to make his long scar too noticable.
"Scarred for life, young Trent. That's what you are. Do you see that scar? It goes all the way up your arm and down across your chest. That's a reminder of your first master. That's a reminder that you disobeyed me and refused to turn to the dark side. Remember me, Trent, by that scar."
Trent shoved the memory out of his mind and forced his smile back, "Indeed a pleasure to meet you, Lisa."
Lisa nodded. She smiled a little, and showed Trent the scars all over her arms. "Comes from tough living." she said, grinning with a hint of mischief.
Jenina wandered, reading from a Holo-Net viewer pad in her hands.
Trent felt slightly uncomfortable when Lisa noticed his scars. But when she showed him her own, he accepted it. Her past seems to have clung to her. He thought.
Suddenly, a growl came from his stomach. He grinned then asked the bartender for something sweet to eat. The bartender returned with a sweet-smelling biscuit of some sort. Taking a bite, he glanced out the window and met Kendalia's eyes.
Kendalia studied the sweet in Trent's hands for a moment then rolled her eyes, "Trent," she murmered.
Trent watched as Kendalia rolled her eyes then said something. He chuckled, shoved the rest of the biscuit in his mouth, then asked for another one.
Lisa grinned and drank from her glass, watching Trent and the person he looked at. They seemed to have a good relationship, one with humor. A hooded Rodian stumbled into another Rodian, who was obviously drunk. The two began arguing fiercely. Lisa let her knives slip into her hands, fingering the blades lightly, in case something happened.
Trent looked at the two Rodians with interest. He subtly reached into his robe and grabbed a small object.
The two Rodians began to yell, attracting the attention of other 'patrons' of the cantina. Lisa watched, glancing at Trent. What was he up to?
((Let me know if this is okay, Jenina. ) Trent started to pull the small object out of his robe but an invading thought stopped him. "If you even dare..." Kendalia's voice whispered into his mind. "It won't hurt them. Just temporarily stun them..." Trent thought back. "Are you sure?""Yes""Make sure no one knows it was you. If you-know-who finds out he'll have both our heads."Trent grinned then pressed something on the object. Suddenly, both of the Rodians' eyes bulged and they fell silently to the ground, unconscious. Trent glanced with a fake curiosity at the Rodians. "Peculiar." he commented before consuming another biscuit.
Lisa nodded, feigning surprise. "Odd indeed.. very odd.." She watched as other Rodians hauled the two unconscious ones out the door.
