Ketreelawa’s eyes studied Brendak for along moment. She had prepared herself for what he was going to say—but she didn’t prepare herself for this. Automatically, she was more on her guard; her paw flew to her lightsaber, automatically igniting it. “Your father.” She repeated in a darker voice, “I swore that I would kill him—he killed my master.” She said, bringing her lightsaber closer to Brendak, “He took the only life I had away, for a year, I was separated from my master—because of him. The next time I saw her, my master, she was dead, by a lightsaber through the heart--Morax’s lightsaber. I will kill him one day.” The emotions that flooded through Ketreelawa were not emotions that she typically had—only once had she felt these before. The pain and sadness flowed off of her in heavy waves. She swore herself never to feel them again, yet, there she was, filled with them. “I can not trust you.” She said, waiting for a response.

Shaa walked past Brendak and Ketreelawa just as the Wookiee ignited her Lightsaber to Brendak's throat. "I can not trust you." Shaa heard Ketreelawa say, with deep anger flowing off of her. Anger is not the Jedi way, Ketreelawa... Shaa did not interfere, she only shook her head and walked forward. It is sad, how the Dark side enters and corrupts minds. But it is even more disturbing when the Dark side enters the mind of one who can not control it... Her masters voice rang through her ears several times. "We do not know that Master, I do not know the Wookiee's mind..." Shaa whispered into the ebony sky. She threw the hood of her robe over her head and preceded in walking. I do not know her mind... I do not even know my own...

Brendak stared at the wookiee's face, illuminated by the white glow of the lighsaber that hummed to life inches away from his throat.
Leveling his gaze with hers, Brendak said quietly, "I do not ask for you trust Ketreelawa. The seeds of my father's actions are mine to bear, they always will be. For what he has done to you," Brendak's eyes softened slightly. "I am sorry."
He slowly took a step backward and half turned before speaking to her again. "I carry the weight of revenge and fury as much as you do. They are the burdens that I must abide with, but refrain from using." A muscle in his jaw tightened. "Be aware against the wiles and supposed satisfaction promised by vengeance. You are too young to fall prey to darkness."

Ketreelawa clipped her lightsaber back to her belt, not sure what to say. "I want to trust you. I feel you are telling the truth. I'm sorry. As for me battling the dark side, don't worry. I will not let it take me over," she said. Then in a smaller voice, one not audible to the others, she finished, "again." She turned to face Brendak, "I will trust you," she quickly added, "but if you are lying..." Your being stupid Ketreelawa. Don't let your emotions control you. "I will not let my emotions control me." Ketreelawa said aloud.

Jarx heard the lightsaber before seeing it. He saw the green alien fighting with his lightsaber against the small band of Gamorreans.
Jarx leveled his blaster, like he always does, and fired a shot into the first one that turned around and spotted them. The other Gamorreans kept fighting the jedi master, till they realized they were outgunned and out matched. They turned tail and ran, squealing like the pigs they were, "Looks like you needed a hand, jedi."
Fidella turned around and looked sternly at them, "What took you all so long?"

Aurra quickly drew her blaster when she heard the mandalorian fire his weapon. Ahead of the group, Aurra saw one of the jedi, Fidella, fighting off a small band of Gamorreans. When the Gamorreans saw the group coming they scattered.
Fidella turned around and looked sternly at them, “What took you all so long?”
“Oh, we thought you wouldn’t mind if we stopped by a cantina for a drink on our way to meet you.” Aurra replied sarcastically.

Shaa smiled and felt her heart grow light again. A simple word or joke could always do that to her...

Jenina covered her ears, as if it would help the fluctuating emotions. Suddenly she was five years old again... "It's your fault she's able to do that! You encourage it!" "It's wrong not to, Herridan! It's part of her." "I don't care! It's different! And in my line of work, that would be grounds for immediate exile or worse!!!" "Herridan, she's your daughter!" The five year-old crouched in the corner, longing to escape the anger, fear, and mixed emotions that were filling the room..

Ketreelawa looked at the group around her with a sudden sense of embarassment. She had acted on impulse when she had snatched her lightsaber and had pointed it at Brendak, and she had acted wrong. She saw Jenina, who was covering her ears, and felt awful. She had made this poor jedi obviously remember something she wasn't keen on remembering. Ketreelawa walked over to her and gently set a paw on her shoulder. "I am sorry. I am not the character you just saw, please forgive me." Ketreelawa said, looking her in the eyes.

Jenina looked up at Ketreelawa, then hugged her. "No..no need..to apologize.." Lisa watched the two of them, smiling a little.

Brendak nodded in response to the young jedi before turning and walking away.
He rested against the edge of a wall and sighed. He pushed aside all the emotions and near forgotten memories that beat upon his mind, this was no time to have a parade of flash-backs. It didn't matter, after all. He was dragged behind a curse that never found enough beings to inflict. It would never be any different.
When he heard the jedi master Fidella return and the group of mercenaries flee, he made his way over to him.
"Did you find anything useful?" He asked Fidella.

Shaa sped up, walking closer to Cla'tal. He was, after all, practically the only one she had talked to on this mission. . . "Everybody is in a wonderful mood tonight, huh?" She retorted sarcastically. "I mean, we're all becoming acquainted quite well: Throwing Lightsabers in each others faces, threatening to kill each other, slapping each other. . ."

Ketreelawa hugged Jenina back, feeling suddenly better. She had a friend in the galaxy after all. Suddenly, Jenina reminded her of Talla, a girl who had been her best friend. "Ketreelawa, I will come get you. I will free you--I promise." Talla said through the force to Ketreelawa, who was locked away in a deep chamber of Darth Morax's ship. "Why am I here?" Ketreelawa thought, before she looked down at the dura-steel floor, her sad blue eyes seeming to scan the floor for an answer. Her once silver-white fur now had brown speckles of dust, and she was skinny from lack of nurishment. Talla's voice spoke once more into her, "Ketreelawa, I will always be your friend. Nothing can take that away from you." Ketreelawa snapped back to reality and glanced up as Brendak asked, "Did you find anything useful?"

Jenina felt much better after hugging Ketreelawa. She brushed at her eyes, smiling. "Thank you, Ketreelawa.." Lisa watched Brendak and Jarx, her ears swiveling around to pick up every sound.
