A confused look crossed over Ketreelawa's face, why had that man come to Brendak and slapped him? "Do you know this person?" Ketreelawa asked Jenina, her hand was ready for her light saber if there was to be violence.

Jenina looked at Ketreelawa. "It's okay....That's Jarx..he's one of our leaders...he was..um...knocking some sense into Brendak.."

Brendak whirled around to face Jarx, barley managing to gain control. Jarx had HIT him! In front of Sarahi none the less! Visions of brutality and violence clouded his mind like an eerie fog. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "What did you do to mother?" Brendak asked, trembling so rigidly that he hoped he didn't collapse. His ten year old form stood in a defensive stance as he glared up a the man he once called "father". "Did you kill her?" His father laughed. "Of course I did! Your mother was a worthless sleeper, and nothing more boy!" Crying with rage, Brendak had lunged at him yelling, "You enslaved her!" Without warning, his father's fist snaked out from his cloak struck him across the face. Brendak slammed into the wall, coughing out blood. He felt two powerful hands grip his tunic and yank him to his feet. A cold voice hissed in his ear, "That hit was a warning, Brendak. You will listen to everything that I tell you, or I swear on that dead woman's grave that you will be next." ----------------------------------------------------------------- Jarx's hit brought it all crashing down again like it had happened days before. He took a step forward and growled, "You got a problem? Because maybe you should start dealing with the issue of someone wanting to help us instead of being a force forsaken idiot."

Jenina jumped back, startled by the sudden rush of anger that was pouring off of Brendak.

Ketreelawa surveyed all that was going on with Brendak and Jarx. She was only fourteen, so for her mind this was all deeply confusing. She felt anger pouring off Brendak, yet also saddness and revenge. "I know how it feels." Ketreelawa thought, remembering the past. She stepped forward and broke the two up. "This needs to stop! I need to talk to you Jarx." Ketreelawa said. Shoving Brendak slightly to the left. "I have seen your group, may I join?"

Jarx barely heard the wookie, and grabbed Brendak by the collar, and slammed him into the wall next to him. His helmet was on, so it did not show his face, contorted in rage. This man knew nothing, of what had happen to him in his life. THis man thought he had problems, thought he deserve treatment? Well, he was going to run into a brick wall, one that was forsaken of the force, as this man said, "Okay, pretty boy. This is how it is going to work. I will hit you on the back of the head whenever I want. You want to know why? Because idiots need to be smack around. Rude people, need to be smack around. I was, when I was little, whenever I was an idiot. I don't know how your father raised you, but he could have done it, with a little more respect."
He tightened his grip, "Another thing, you need to be kinder. People down here don't like it when a stranger, starts to get angry. Makes them get agitated. And you want to know what agitation does to a swoop gang member? It gets them trigger happy. Their answer to everything down here. So calm down, and stay down!"
He let go of him, and glanced at the wookie, "I don't care what you do. I already know your a jedi, so, you should fit in just fine with all the jedi, who seem to be cramping on my space!"

"Stop!' Sarahi shouted. "I can't take it anymore! Jarx! You a leader, not a common denominator!" She put a finger on his chest. "I don't know how you were raised, but you can't expect everyone else to understand your ways of doing things! By the Force, at five I was being beaten by my slave master just because I hummed a small tune! Not everyone is going to understand how I feel about such things!"
Sarahi was inches from Jarx's helmet covered face. "If you can't deal with with jedi or who we are as people, then I think you have a serious problem."
The fire in Sarahi's eyes was still being kindled; she turned to Brendak. "You! You need to calm down!" She came close to him and lowered her voice. "I don't know what you've been through, or what you're going through now, but you have to let go of your anger." Sarahi's voice turned into a whisper so that no one could hear. "I know it is not the jedi way, but my father always told me 'let love be your guide in your darkest hours'. Replace your anger with love and let go of the past."
Sarahi backed away and looked to the group. "What's done is done. There are lives out there that are in danger, and it's up to us to save as many as we can." She paused. "And they won't be saved by us standing around here. Let's go, we can solve our differences later."

Jenina remained silent, and headed off in a general eastern-ish direction, using the Force to try to sense the life-force of survivors.

(Good one Sarahi. ) Jarx's instincts were to grab his blaster and finish it, but, he was a gentlemen, and was not controlled by anger, contray to popular belief. He grabbed Sarahi by the shoulder, and twisted her around, then, in a whisper, "I never had a problem with jedi. I have a problem with jedi cowards. I fought with many, true jedi, in the war. What I have a problem with," He pointed his finger at Brendak, "is jedi, who wine and complain, and fall in love, with the first person they meet, and then suddenly decides to shield them, from everything, and take offense, with everything." Jarx backed up, "Your right, jedi, you will never understand me. Not this way, not ever. Maybe, after all this is over, you just may understand, what has happened to me. What I have gone through. I am very sorry about your slave master beating you. I am sorry you never knew your parents, but you want to know something? I lost my parents, I knew them, and lost them! I would have taken blows from my parents, if they could have lived." He turned his back on them, "I don't care what you do, most of you are a bunch of cowards. The only one that did not seem old enough to fight, is the wookie." He walked slowly into the darkness...

What's so wrong with love you cold hearted Mandalorian! Her mind screamed. Sarahi's hand clenched as she saw Jarx fade into the darkness. "A coward runs away from his problems! A couragous man faces them! And age does not matter, it's the heart of the person that makes them a true warrior!" she shouted after him, pushing away the rage that burned in her heart. If he only knew!
Sarahi had watched her mother's death, the desperation in her eyes as she tried to protect her two children. She had seen her father's eyes when he realized that his son was a sith, and the pain that had weld up in his eyes when she had turned her back on him. That was the last time she had seen him since the... Sarahi fought back the tears and the sorrow that tried to bubble up in her throat.
Sarahi cleared her throat getting a grip on her emotions, mostly sadness. "Let's get on with our mission." she said letting the Force guide her steps. "Like I said, we don't have much time."

Jenina stopped, and crouched in an alleyway off of the main road the group was on, her hands pressed over her ears. She hated fighting. Her parents had fought constantly when they were under Sith control, arguing, yelling, anger pouring off of them, making them say words they would never mean if they weren't stressed and burdened. She blinked hard, keeping back the burning tears that were fighting to get out. -------------- "It's your fault! If you hadn't chosen to work here, if you hadn't chosen to be on their side..." a mother yelled at her husband, the lights in the room making everything red and orange, bright, angry colors... "It's not my fault we were put here, now is it? And whose decision was it that we should stick together as a family, huh? Yours!" her dad shouted back, gesturing toward a small girl sitting in the corner, facing away from her parents, holding a doll tightly, her hands mostly covering her ears. The girl turned, the light making her golden-brown hair look fiery. Her light blue eyes were wide, and glistened wetly, but she didn't cry... -------------- She was jerked back to the present by Ketreelawa's question. The 16 year-old looked up at the wookie. "I think this place is affecting people in different ways....making them prone to anger, or getting offensive, or....." she paused. "Or making them miserable..." she sighed, and stood. "Sorry...." she looked around. "We should see if we can get anything done..."

Burning rage clouded Brendak's mind until all he could see was blood, Jarx's blood. When Jarx twisted Sarahi around, his light saber flew to his hands and nearly ignited as he stalked toward them. When he reached them and Sarahi turned on him, he fell back at her words. Let go of your anger, calm down. She sounded just like what she was doing, attempting to control the animal that he was. He was about to leave Jarx alone when he heard him say to Sarahi, "What I have a problem with is jedi who whine and complain, and fall in love, with the first person they meet, then suddenly decide to shield them from everything and take offense for everything. " There was something that hit him in that sentence that sent waves pulsing through his body. He thought that he should have been furious, and half of him was. Half of him wanted nothing more than to slay the mandalorian where he stood. The other half felt something that he had never seen in Jarx before. Brendak felt the air deflate from his body and he stared at disbelief as Jarx left. When Sarahi yelled after him, he numbly walked up to her and laid a hand on her shoulder. "Calm down Sarahi," he said unable to take his eyes off of where Jarx had walked. " I think that there is more to this mandalorian than meets the eye." Brendak gazed down at her. "I am going after him. Don't wait for me. "

Sarahi pulled away from Brendak. "I am calm, and I don't need you to tell me what to do!" She frowned. "And stay with the group. What Jarx does is none of your concern, so let him be." Once again Sarahi turned to the group biting back the sharpness to her tone. "Like I've said for the thousandth time, let's go!"
